In feng shui, the best choice of colors is defined by the location of your kitchen. The location is determined by the so-called Bagua, or feng shui energy map. South Area Kitchen

Western bagua location: center top
This is one of the most auspicious kitchen locations in feng shui as it works very well with the Fire feng shui element energy of the area. In fact, the Chinese placed their kitchens in the east or south sectors of their homes.
If your kitchen is placed in the South, you can use all sorts of fiery colors – from bright red to intense yellow or orange. Nonetheless, some feng shui experts believe this fiery shade can create an imbalance in the kitchen when used in large doses.
Use a more neutral color throughout most of the room and rely on red as an accent. Small items in purple, gold or red colors help feng shui home for wealth. Colors to avoid (in big proportions) in a South area kitchen are blue and black.

Earth element colors and decor items are excellent here, too. Colors to avoid in a Southwest kitchen are too many whites and grays or blue and black. In other words, this is not the best area for cool colors.

West Area Kitchen

The fire element of the kitchen can weaken the metal element energy of this Bagua area. Avoid too many fire element colors and focus on strong Earth element decor. Clean grays, warm earthy tones, and fresh white hues are excellent for a West area kitchen.
White is often a prevalent kitchen color since it pairs well with every color. It is a symbol of cleanliness and purity and can create a blank canvas that you can accent with warmer shades, to keep the room from feeling too stark and cold.
