Natural stone countertops are all the rage these days, and rightfully so. The natural beauty and durability of natural stone make it an ideal choice for kitchen countertops in Colorado homes, from rustic kitchens with farmhouse sinks to sleek modern kitchens with clean lines and cutting-edge appliances. Here are three reasons why you might want to consider incorporating natural stone into your kitchen design

Marble

The natural beauty and durability of natural stone make it an ideal choice for kitchen countertops.

Marble countertops are so versatile, attractive, and easy to maintain that there is no other option when it comes to a kitchen. Here are three reasons why you should consider marble in your own kitchen:

  • Marble countertops are very resistant to stains and scratches. Marble countertops have a long lifespan, and this is mainly due to the fact that marble does not scratch or stain easily.
  • Durable and heat-resistant: even at its thinnest state of 2 mm, marble can withstand temperatures up to 180°C.
  • Marble has become more affordable over the years as well because of how popular it has become among homeowners who want their kitchens to be durable and fashionable.

Granite

If you’re looking for a countertop that is both practical and beautiful, granite should be at the top of your list. One of the key benefits of granite countertops is durability. Granite countertops are so durable that they can withstand things like boiling water, saucepans, and knives without being scratched or damaged. Plus, with its natural beauty, granite will never go out of style. In addition to its durability, granite offers an attractive appearance that is sure to add value to any kitchen. And because it’s such a popular choice among homeowners, it’s easier than ever before to find a wide range of colors in all shapes and sizes, making it possible for every homeowner to get exactly what they want in their kitchen renovation project.

Soapstone

Marble counters are elegant, but the texture is likely not the best option if you have kids or pets. Granite, while durable and beautiful, has a tendency to be too hard on knives, even those with protective rubberized grips. This is why so many people in Denver turn to soapstone for their stone countertops in Colorado. A material that’s much softer than granite but offers comparable elegance and beauty, soapstone can bring something different into your kitchen without being difficult on your knives or countertop space. If you’re curious about how soapstone compares to other natural stone options, contact us at The Kitchen Showcase today. We can help you pick the best countertop option for your kitchen!

Laminate Countertops vs Stone Countertops

There are a lot of different options when it comes to getting new high-quality kitchen countertops. However, two of the best and most common options are laminate and stone. So which one do you pick? This is a question that some people find really hard to answer. So to help make it easier for you to decide on either a laminate or stone countertop, here is a detailed breakdown of the benefits of both laminate countertops and stone countertops.

Benefits of Laminate Countertops

One of the biggest benefits that laminate countertops have over stone is the fact that they are much cheaper. In fact, depending on the type of stone you choose, a laminate countertop could easily end up being less than half of the cost.

Natural stone countertops combined with reclaimed wood is necessary for creating a rustic style.

Another benefit is that laminate countertops are incredibly easy to install and are very low maintenance. Even if they suffer damage, you can easily have refinished or repaired to get them looking brand new in no time at all.

Benefits of Stone Countertops

Even though stone countertops are more expensive than laminate, you are getting a lot of value for the price that you are paying. This is largely because they are extremely durable and can often end up lasting over 40 years if properly maintained. So even if you have a home with a lot of destructive children around, stone countertops should be able to survive the chaos.

They also come in a wide variety of colors and patterns, which ensures that you can always get the exact style you are looking for.

Therefore, if someone is looking for plenty of short-term benefits, they are better off going with laminate countertops. But if they are planning to live in a home for quite some time, then they should be able to collect on the benefits of stone countertops. No matter which material you pick, make sure you contact our team of professionals at The Kitchen Showcase to help you professionally install it.

Marble

The Marble countertops are made with 100% Natural Stone and they are heat resistant. We recommend that you don’t use Marble material on your kitchen countertops, since they are susceptible to staining from acid materials.

Soapstone

The Soapstone countertops are durable and heat resistant. They require more maintenance than the majority of Natural Stone materials. A good tip is to apply mineral oil to help improve the luster of the stone.

Slate

Slate countertops are inexpensive and you can find them in many earth-toned colors. They are more brittle than other Natural Stone materials.

Travertine

Travertine Countertops are also inexpensive and have multiple pitted holes in the surface, which creates a distinct look. They are not recommended for kitchen countertops since they are susceptible to staining from acid materials.
