Blue is the New Hottest Kitchen Cabinet Trend
The latest hot color in kitchen cabinet trends is blue. From vibrant, bright light blues, to deep, dark, moody blues, there are so many options to choose from.

Blue cabinets work well with all styles, from farmhouse, to transitional, to modern. It’s also a great choice for doing a two-tone kitchen, where the upper cabinets are a different color from the lower cabinets. Generally, the darker color should be on the lower cabinet.
This works with light and dark tones of the same color, and also looks really good with white uppers, and blue lowers.
Another kitchen cabinet trend is to have the kitchen island a contrasting color from the cabinets. A blue island would be the perfect way to make this look happen in your home.
The hue or tone of blue that you choose depends partly on what you already have in your home, and partly on your preference. A kitchen without a lot of natural light will look darker when you add dark paint to the cabinets. This is not necessarily a bad thing, unless you want a light and airy kitchen.
Another thing to consider is that darker colors can have the effect of making a room feel smaller. This isn’t a concern when only painting the lower cabinets a dark blue, as they are below eye level.
In an open floor plan, where the kitchen is part of the main living area, you can use colors in the other areas, such as the stone on the fireplace, to pull colors from for your kitchen.
